1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. (i) For issuance of a writ, in the nature of a writ of mandamus directing and commanding the respondent No-1 (District Magistrate), Patna to decide petitioner's application which is pending in his good office since 4th of September, 2014 for no fault of the petitioner and without any adverse remark/comment from any corner/competent authority, preferably allowing petitioner's application."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Patna, to dispose off the pending application of the petitioner, filed for grant of

Patna High Court CWJC No.15705 of 2023(2) dt.03-05-2024 2/2 arms license on 04.09.2014.

3. Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondentState submits that in case the aforesaid application filed by the petitioner is still pending consideration, the same would definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Patna, to consider the aforesaid application filed by the petitioner, in case the same is still pending and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
