The petitioner seeks bail in NDPS Case No. 31 of 2019 arising out of Chhakuradano (Mahuawa) P.S. Case No. 73 of 2019 registered for the offence under Section-20/22 of the NDPS Act.

Earlier prayer for bail of the petitioner was rejected taking into account that contraband more than commercial quantity was said to have been recovered.

A report was called for from the trial court. It has been reported that the case is fixed for defence evidence. Prosecution evidence has already been closed. The trial is likely to be concluded within one month.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.70856 of 2022(3) dt.15-02-2023 2/2 Considering the nature of accusation and stage of the case, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. The trial court is directed to take all necessary steps to conclude the trial at the earliest.
