The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Vigilance PS case no. 17 of 2019 instituted for the offence punishable under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amended 2018).

The allegation is regarding the vigilance team having trapped the petitioner and caught him red-handed, taking bribe of a sum of Rs. 8,000/-.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a government servant, is having a clean

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner as also taking into account the period of incarceration of the petitioner herein, I deem it fit and appropriate to release the abovenamed petitioner on regular bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge (Vigilance), North Bihar, Muzaffarpur in connection with Vigilance PS case no. 17 of 2019.
