The petitioners filed this writ petition for a direction to the respondents authorities to accept the application of the petitioners for their appointment on the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in pursuance of the Advt. No.1 of 2019. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission is obliged to issue advertisement each and every year for appointment on the post of Sub-Inspector. The earlier advertisement was issued in the year 2016 but thereafter no advertisement for appointment on

Patna High Court CWJC No.24361 of 2019(2) dt.06-12-2019 2/2 the post of Sub-Inspector of Police was issued in the year 2017 and 2018. Now the petitioner has become overage and, therefore, Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission be directed to accept the application form of the petitioner in pursuance of Advt. No.1 of 2019.

Once the petitioners became overage and on that ground he is not eligible for appointment to the post of SubInspector of Police, the application form of the petitioners cannot be directed to be accepted as it will open a floodgate of such type of petitions.

Having considered the facts aforesaid, I do not find any merit in this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.
