The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Mehandiganj P.S. Case No. 87 of 2022 lodged under Sections 25(1-b)a, 26, 35 and 27 of the Arms Act.

As per the prosecution there is recovery of one country made pistol (desi katta) and one live cartridge from the possession of the petitioner.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that there are six criminal cases against the petitioner in which he is on bail. He is in custody since 04.06.2022.

Counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there are six criminal antecedents against the petitioner.

In this view of the matter, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The petitioner may renew his prayer for bail after two months of framing of charge and the trial Court shall release the petitioner after framing of charge on bail imposing his own condition(s) so that he may not evade his appearance during trial.
