JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 13-02-2018 The petitioner's application for correction in the father's name, as entered in the certificate issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education, has been rejected by the Regional Officer of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Regional Office, Patna, by order, dated 02/21/2017, on the ground that the application was time-barred. This is not in dispute that earlier there was limitation period of one year prescribed for filing application seeking correction in the certificate. The time has since been extended to five years.

2. In that view of the matter, the petitioner's case is being remanded back to the Regional Officer, Central Board of

Patna High Court CWJC No.12464 of 2017(2) dt.13-02-2018 2/2 Secondary Education to consider the petitioner's application for correction in the entry on merits of the case. No issue of limitation shall be taken into account, if the petitioner files a fresh application through the Principal of the Delhi Public School, Patna before the Regional Officer within a period of two weeks from today.
