1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned GA-7 for the State and learned counsel appearing on behalf of the University.

Learned counsel for the petitioner at the outset draws the attention of the Court to Annexure-P/21, page 75 of the writ application and submits that the same is a letter issued by the Registrar, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur (hereinafter referred to as the 'University) contained in letter no. ACC/4690 dated 27.11.2018 addressed to the In-Charge Officer, Pay Verification Cell, Education Department, Bihar, Patna for verifying the pay of the petitioner. It is submitted that since the

Patna High Court CWJC No.16590 of 2024(2) dt.21-11-2024 2/3 Pay Verification Cell, Education Department, Government of Bihar, Patna is not verifying the pay of the petitioner as requested by the University, as such, the petitioner is facing hardship in the sense that he is receiving salary less than his entitlement and further his difference of arrear salary on account of promotion as Reader w.e.f. 23.01.1995 as granted by notification dated 08.06.2012 is also pending.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that the writ application may be disposed of with a direction to the Pay Verification Cell, Education Department, Government of Bihar, Patna to take a decision in accordance with law in pursuance of the letter of the Registrar dated 27.11.2018 within a time frame.

4. After hearing the learned counsel for the parties, the In-Charge Officer, Pay Verification Cell, Education Department, Government of Bihar, Patna is directed to verify the pay of the petitioner in pursuance of the letter issued by the Registrar of the University dated 27.11.2018 (Annexure-21) in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the writ application is disposed of with the aforesaid directions and observations.

6. It is made clear that the Court has not gone into the merits of the case.
