2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Sessions Trial No. 465 of 2023 arising out of Digha P.S. Case No. 708 of 2022 registered for the offence under Sections 304B/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per the prosecution case, the deceased was killed by the accused and his family members for demand of dowry.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 19.01.2023 he is quite innocent and has not committed any offence.

5. Learned A.P.P. has vehemently opposed the prayer for bail and has submitted that there is direct allegation against this petitioner.

6. Learned senior counsel for the petitioner tried to make out a case that the deceased was suffering from mental illness and she has committed suicide. Learned senior counsel for the petitioner has also relied upon on certain prescriptions annexed with the petition to show that deceased was suffering from mental ailment. The prescriptions filed by and relied by the learned senior counsel do not inspire confidence.

7. Considering the allegations levelled against this petitioner and gravity of offence, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner and the case is dismissed. The trial court is directed to expedite the trial of the petitioner.

8. This application for regular bail stands dismissed.
