JUSTICE ASHUTOSH KUMAR ORAL ORDER 26-04-2018 The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with Dhaka (Pachapakari) P.S. Case No. 60 of 2017 dated 25.02.2017 instituted for the offences under Sections 387, 506, 507 of the Indian Penal Code. The informant received telephone calls on two dates when the caller, by using abusive language, demanded ransom amount of Rs. 5,00,000/-(five lakhs). The informant happens to be a shop owner and since he apprehended trouble, the present F.I.R. was lodged.

The petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. During the course of investigation, nothing concrete could be collected against him.

Be that as it may, the telephone number from which

No.21373 of 2018 (2) dt.26-04-2018 2/2 the ransom call had come was apparently made from SIM No. 8114521484 which is not issued in the name of either the petitioner or his family members. The mobile set (telephone set) which was used for calling the informant, however belongs to the wife of the petitioner. Apart from that, there is no other material to connect the petitioner with the crime. The petitioner does not bear any criminal antecedent. Considering the aforesaid facts, let the petitioner, above named, in the event of his arrest or surrender before learned Court below within a period of four weeks from today, be released on bail on his furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/-(ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Sikrahana at Dhaka in connection with Dhaka (Pachapakari) P.S. Case No. 60 of 2017.
