JUSTICE RAJEEV RANJAN PRASAD ORAL ORDER 15-01-2018 Petitioner in the present case is seeking a direction to the S.S.P., Patna to consider his representation dated 04.10.2017 as contained in Annexure-7.
On perusal of the Annexure-7 it appears that the petitioner has complained to the S.S.P., Patna that certain unsocial elements are acting in collusion with the local police station and they are realizing money from the persons who are going to
Patna High Court Cr. WJC No.2400 of 2017 (3) dt.15-01-2018 construct house on their respective piece of land. The petitioner has alleged that he has been asked to pay a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- for construction of his house. This court is not recording any opinion on the allegations made by the petitioner but the allegations are serious in nature.
It is expected that such complaints seeking protection of life and liberty from the S.S.P. shall be considered with some urgency, as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court such application should be given priority. The S.S.P., Patna shall look into the matter and find out the truth based on a proper investigation within a reasonable time frame. It is the responsibility of the State to protect the life and liberty of the citizens. Needless to say that if the petitioner is under threat of any unsocial element, the S.S.P. shall take stern measures to save him.
The writ application stands disposed of with the above observations and directions.
