Petitioner is in custody since 21.5.2019 in connection with Majhaulia P.S. Case No. 227/2019 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 376, 511, 354, 354A, 354C, 354D/34 of the Indian Penal Code and 7, 8, 11 of POCSO Act. The trial court vide its letter No. 173/2020 dated 2.8.2020 has reported that the trial of the petitioner is running for recording the defence evidencve.

Considering this aspect of the matter that the trial of the petitioner is on the verge of conclusion, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail for present and, accordingly, prayer for bail of the petitioner stands rejected.

No.64303 of 2019(5) dt.07-09-2020 2/2 However, learned trial court is directed to dispose of the trial of the petitioner within four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order either via physical or video conferencing whichever is possible. It is also made clear that, if the trial court fails to dispose of the trial of the petitioner within the above stated period, the petitioner shall be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail before this Court.
