The petitioner is languishing in custody since 8.8.2019 in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 7(a)/12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amended 2018).

The prosecution case is that the petitioner being Nazircum-Peshkar of the SDO, East Champaran, was caught red handed accepting illegal gratification of Rupees Twenty Five Thousand, leading to registration of Vigilance P.S. Case No. 34 of 2019.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has falsely been framed in the present case and he has unblemished career. Statement has been made in paragraph

Learned counsel for the Vigilance submits that the petitioner was caught red handed while accepting illegal gratification.

Considering the fact that the investigation has already concluded and the period in custody, let the petitioner above named be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Special Judge, Vigilance, Muzaffarpur in connection with Vigilance P.S. Case No. 34 of 2019 (Special Case No. 22 of 2019).
