The petitioner seeks pre-arrest bail in connection with Runnisaidpur P. S. Case No. 342 of 2017 registered under Sections 385, 386, 379, 506 and 504 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Considering the specific nature of allegation made against the petitioner and one Ajit Rai that they assaulted the informant and demanded ransom from him, I am not inclined to grant him pre-arrest bail. Accordingly, the application for grant of pre-arrest bail is rejected.

However, in case the petitioner surrenders and seeks bail, the same shall be considered on its own merit
