2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Vigilance P.S. Case No. 66 of 2025, instituted for the offences under Section 7(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

3. Prosecution case, in short, is that petitioner allegedly demanded bribe of Rs. One Lakh from the informant in lieu of grant of funds in favour of complainant's mother under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The said fact was verified by the Vigilence department and raiding party was constructed and before that audio clip was also made.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has falsely been implicated in the present case. He further submitted that the allegation levelled against the petitioner is baseless as the application for grant of Rs. 10 Lakhs in faovur of the petitioner's mother was approved and cleared by erstwhile District Fisheries Officer, West Champaran from whom the petitioner took charge on 07.07.2025. The informant's applications under the Mukhya Mantri Talab Matsiyaki Vikas Yojna on 29.05.2025 and 30.05.2025 were rejected by the petitioner on 30.07.2025. The entire allegation of bribe of Rs. One lakh is false and concocted. As per trap memorandum, a black polybag containing the currency was handed over as a bribe, however, on search of the table of petitioner a yellow polybag was recovered.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that other co-accused has been granted bail by a Co-ordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 01.07.2020 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 14835 of 2020. It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody since 26.08.2025 and has no criminal antecedent.

5. Learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently

6. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, nature and gravity of offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

7. Accordingly, the prayer for grant of bail to the petitioner is, hereby, rejected.

8. Learned Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial.

9. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to renew the prayer for grant of bail before the Trial Court if the trial is not concluded within a period of three from today. If any such application is filed before the learned court below, the court concerned shall consider the same on its own merit without being prejudiced by this order.
