2. Petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Lalganj P.S. Case No. 207/2024 dated 15.07.2024 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 308(5) and 308(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
3. The main submissions advanced by learned counsel for the petitioner are that the petitioner is a 22 year old person having fair and clean antecedent and his name has surfaced in the confessional statement of co-accused Hanny @ Bhola, Pramod Kumar and Ayush Raj in connection with the alleged crime of extortion demand and as per allegation, the said

No.75237 of 2024(3) dt.17-01-2025 2/3 extortion demand was made by the accused by using some mobile numbers of which details has been given in the FIR itself but the petitioner has no concern with any of these mobile numbers and none of them belongs to him. It is further submitted that the petitioner is a student and has never indulged in any type of crime and keeping him behind the bar shall ruin his academic career. It is further submitted that co-accused person, namely, Pramod Kumar and Aayush Raj, carrying similar nature of allegation and on whose confessional statement the name of this petitioner has surfaced in the alleged crime, have been granted bail by this Court vide orders passed in Cr. Misc. No.
71713/2024 and 69173/2024 respectively and several other co-accused persons, namely Anil Rai, Rama Shankar Rai, Dinesh Sahni and Gautam Kumar have also been granted bail by this Court vide orders passed in Cr. Misc. Nos. 64870/2024, 65765/2024, 66775/2024 and 75109/2024 respectively and the petitioner's prayer stands on better footing from the co-accused Pramod Kumar and stands on similar footing with other coaccused persons who are on bail.
4. Learned APP appearing for the State has opposed the bail prayer of the petitioner.
5. Having considered the above submissions advanced
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.75237 of 2024(3) dt.17-01-2025 3/3 by petitioner's counsel and taking into account the petitioner's young age and his fair and clean antecedent and also his plea as to his case being similar to the aforesaid co-accused persons who are on bail, this Court is inclined to grant him the same privilege. Accordingly, let the petitioner named-above be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the concerned Court in connection with Lalganj P.S. Case No. 207 of 2024.
