Petitioner, who is in custody, seeks bail in connection with Kursakanta (Sonamani) P.S. Case No. 204 of 2016 registered for the offences punishable under Section 21(C), 23 (C) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropics Substance Act. Allegation against petitioner is recovery of 6.1 kilogram Charas from a bag which was carried by petitioner. Considering the nature of allegation against petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.
