The present writ petition has been filed for issuing a direction upon the District Magistrate to decide the case of the petitioner for grant of arms licence.

The brief facts of the case are that the petitioner had applied for grant of arms licence and the application of the petitioner was rejected by an order dated 28.10.2016 passed in Arms case no. 2 of 2012, which was challenged by the petitioner in appeal before the Commissioner, Magadh Division, Gaya in Arms appeal no. 183 of 2016 and the learned Commissioner by an order dated 06.12.2017, allowed the aforesaid appeal and remanded the matter back to the District Magistrate for fresh

Patna High Court CWJC No.20831 of 2019 dt.24-10-2019 2/2 adjudication.

It is the complaint of the petitioner that after remand, the matter is lying pending with the District Magistrate, Gaya and no order has been passed on the application of the petitioner for grant of arms licence.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the present case, I deem it fit and appropriate to dispose off the present writ petition with a direction to the District Magistrate, Gaya to dispose off the pending application of the petitioner within a period of eights weeks of receipt/ production of a copy of this order.
