The petitioner had successfully passed Matriculation Examination from Central Board of Secondary Education (for short 'the CBSE') from Himalayan Public School, Bataganj, Danapur in the year 2021 and 12th Examination from Holi Mission Senior Secondary School, Khagaul under the same Board in the year 2024. Based upon the certificates duly issued by the CBSE, Patna, now the petitioner

Patna High Court CWJC No.18106 of 2025(2) dt.04-12-2025 2/3 is pursuing her study in BBA program from St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology under Aryabhatta Knowledge University.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner submitted that in the certificate of the matriculation duly issued by the CBSE, the name of the mother of the petitioner has been correctly mentioned as 'Rakhi Devi'. But surprisingly, when the certificate of class 12th was issued by the CBSE for the Session 2023-2024, the name of her mother has been mentioned as 'Rekha Devi' in place of 'Rakhi Devi'. For necessary correction in the mother's name, the petitioner had approached the Principal of the school but no heed has been paid to her request. The petitioner getting disheartened had also approached the District Magistrate, Patna, who forwarded her application to the Principal of Holi Mission Senior Secondary School, Patna on the same day, but no action has been taken.

Learned Advocate for the CBSE fairly submitted that for any correction in the certificate of the petitioner, the request must be reached to the office of the CBSE through the school along with the necessary document and recommendation. It is further submitted that the certificate is to be issued in consistent with the school record(s).

Having considered the submissions advanced by the learned Advocate for the respective parties, this court directs the petitioner to approach the respondent no.7, the Principal, Holy Mission Senior Secondary School, Khagaul, Patna, preferably within a period of two weeks along with the order of this Court.

6. On receipt of the application, respondent no.7 shall forward the application of the petitioner with due recommendation along with the copy of the record to the office of the CBSE, Patna for the needful.

7. On receipt of the documents/records, the Regional Officer, CBSE, Patna shall make necessary correction, preferably within a further period of eight weeks.

8. The writ petition stands disposed off.
