The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Chautham P.S. Case No. 198 of 2019, G.R. No. 2487 of 2019 for the offence under Sections 379 of the Indian Penal Code. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, who is of clean antecedent, is innocent and has not committed any offence. In fact, the alleged occurrence took place on 18.08.2018 whereas the F.I.R. has been filed on 21.08.2019 after lapse of almost three days without explaining the plausible delay which creates doubt over the prosecution version. The petitioner is rotting in custody since 22.08.2019.
