JUSTICE ASHUTOSH KUMAR ORAL ORDER 22-01-2020 The petitioner seeks a direction to the concerned respondents to consider his case for appointment on compassionate ground in terms of the policy of the department to provide such employment to the dependent family member of the deceased employee.

The father of the petitioner died while in service on 04.05.2019. The petitioner has applied for being considered for compassionate appointment but no decision as yet has been taken.

Patna High Court CWJC No.21197 of 2019(2) dt.22-01-2020 2/3 The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the whole purpose of providing compassionate employment which is aimed at giving succor to the family in the event of disruption of supply line would stand defeated if a delayed decision in that regard is taken.

Considering this aspect of the matter, this Court directs that in case the petitioner makes a representation before the District Magistrate, Bhojpur/respondent No. 2 within a period of three weeks from today, the concerned respondent shall have the facts verified, enquiry made from his office and let the petitioner know about the stage of the consideration of the claim of the petitioner. If the claim of the petitioner is found to be tenable, necessary consequential order shall also be passed/caused to be passed for consideration of the claim of the petitioner within a reasonable period of time, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of submission of representation
