Learned counsel for the petitioner sought the following relief:

For issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondents concerned specially Respondent No. 2 and 3 to consider the claim of the petitioner for grant Public Distribution Shop (P.D.S.) licence to the petitioner on compassionate ground in view of Clause 10 of the Bihar Targeted P.D.S. (Control) Order 2016 as father of petitioner who was P.D.S. licence holder died in harness on 09.06.2018 prior to completion of age of 57 years and within specified period of two years, petitioner being sole son of the deceased submitted application on 07.08.2018 which was processed and even

Having regard to the fact that the petitioner only prays that his case be considered by the authorities on compassionate ground, Respondent no. 2 is directed to consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate ground on its own merits as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of the receipt of the copy of the order.
