The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction to the respondent/Board to provide her with the original certificate of matric examination, for which she claims to have appeared and passed in the year 1982. In support of her contention, it has been submitted that the petitioner got herself registered in the year 1981 and was also provided with a roll-code and roll-number.

Patna High Court CWJC No.22160 of 2019(2) dt.23-01-2020 2/3 There is a further statement on behalf of the petitioner that she was also provided with her marksheet but original matriculation certificate was never provided to her.

From the records, it appears that after 1982, about 25 years later, the petitioner applied for grant of a duplicate certificate which request was never considered. Thereafter, after 34 years of her appearing in the examination, another request was made to the Board through the school for providing her with the original matriculation certificate. When this time also, no response was given by the Board, the petitioner approached the Public Grievance Redressal Cell. The Public Grievance Redressal Cell finally disposed off/dismissed the application of the petitioner vide order dated 08.08.2019 noting therein that the petitioner was a student of Girls High School, Patam, Munger and without any requisite permission from the District Education Officer, Munger or of the relevant committee

Patna High Court CWJC No.22160 of 2019(2) dt.23-01-2020 3/3 in that regard, she was made to appear in the matriculation examination through another school viz. Eastern Railways Boys High School College, Jamalpur, Munger. Considering this, the entire result of such students who had taken examination through a different school without the permission of the authority was cancelled.

Apart from this, the Board has expressed that there is no existing record of the petitioner. Had the petitioner appeared in the matriculation examination in the year 1982, she would not have waited for 25 years to ask for her certificate and would not have further waited for further 34 years to correspond with the Board for the certificate.

This Court finds no merits in this petition. It is thus dismissed.
