This writ petition has been filed for providing protection to the petitioner and her minor daughter aged about 5 years from the threat given by her step mother and relatives in collusion with the local police who are acting at their behest causing serious threat to the life and property of the petitioner and further for taking appropriate action against the erring police officials and the then Station House Officer, Bhagalpur

Patna High Court CR. WJC No.1535 of 2019(3) dt.27-04-2023 2/2 Mahila P.S. namely Swyamprabha for torturing and putting the petitioner and her 5 years old minor daughter in jail at the behest of and in connivance with her step mother and relatives merely on the basis of false accusation.

3. It is the duty of the Police to protect the innocent citizen and if the petitioner has apprehension at the hands of her step mother then she should be granted protection. If she approaches the Superintendent of Police, Bhagalpur for protection, the Superintendent of Police, Bhagalpur will get the threat perception examined and thereafter pass an order in accordance with law, for providing protection to the petitioner.

4. With the aforesaid observation, this application is disposed of.
