2. Heard Mr. Shankar Kumar, learned counsel for Respondents No. 1 and 2, Mr. Binay Kumar Singh, learned counsel for Respondents No. 3 and 4/B.R.A. Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and Mr. Ravi Bhushan Verma, learned counsel for Respondents No. 5 and 6/J.P. University, Chapra.

3. The petitioner, who retired on attaining the age of superannuation as Reader in Zoology Department from Gopeshwar College, Hathua, Gopalganj on 31.12.2019, has preferred this writ petition praying for payment of post

Patna High Court CWJC No.18341 of 2022(4) dt.19-02-2024 2/3 retirement dues, such as, group insurance, gratuity, differential arrears towards pension etc.

4. Counter affidavits on behalf of Respondents No. 1 and 2 as well as 3 and 4 have been filed.

5. Mr. Ravi Bhushan Verma, learned counsel representing Respondents No. 5 and 6 submits that it is the Respondents No. 5 and 6 who are the authorities to finally pay the retirement dues to the petitioner which the Respondents No. 5 and 6 have accordingly, done. Though, no counter affidavit on behalf of Respondents No. 5 and 6 has been filed, Mr. Verma, learned counsel for Respondents No. 5 & 6 submits that the relief(s) sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition has already been paid to the petitioner. He further submits that he had spoken to the learned counsel representing the petitioner, Mr. Arbind Kumar Singh who has authorized him to submit before this Court that since relief, sought for by the petitioner in the instant writ petition, has been redressed by the respondents No. 5 & 6, the writ petition may be closed as infructuous.

6. Accordingly, on the basis of submissions made by Mr. Verma, learned counsel representing Respondents No. 5 & 6 that he has been authorized by Mr. Arbind Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner to make a submission for closure of
