1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned APP for the State.

2. The petitioner has preferred this application for grant of regular bail in connection with Hayaghat P.S Case no.95 of 2023 registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per the prosecution case, the informant states that his daughter was married to the son of the petitioner herein. Soon after the marriage, the accused persons including the petitioner started to torture his daughter and assault her. She was ultimately done to death.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in the case because of his

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.76917 of 2023(3) dt.29-02-2024 2/2 being the father-in-law of the deceased. The petitioner is in custody since 4.9.2023 and undertakes to cooperate in the case.

5. The application for bail is opposed by learned A.P.P for the State.

6. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking into consideration the nature of allegation in the FIR, the petitioner being the father-in-law of the deceased and the cause of death said to be asphyxia due to manual strangulation, the Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail and the application is rejected.
