1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1.(i) To issue an appropriate order/s, direction/s including a writ preferably in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing upon the respondent authorities to appoint the petitioner on compassionate ground whose father died in harness on 19.04.2018 while discharging election duty. (ii) To direct the respondent authority to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible taking into account that family member of the petitioner has objectied in his favour in view of undertaking given to take case and support family member if appointment is provided to him."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks not to press the present writ petition, however, seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to avail such other alternative remedies as are otherwise available under the law, for redressal of his aforesaid grievances. Liberty so sought is granted.
