1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1.(i) For quashing letter no. 709 dated 20.05.2022, issued under the signature of respondent no. 2 whereby cost of Rs. 25,000/- has been imposed upon the petitioner, instead of looking into the irregularities mentioned by the petitioner.

(ii) During the pendency of the present writ petition stay the operation of that part of the order by which a cost of Rs. 25,000/- has been imposed upon the petitioner.

(iii) For setting aside the appointment of private respondents i.e. Respondent Nos. 11 to 15, who were appointed as Registrar by the Hon'ble Chancellor in the concerned University of the State of Bihar.

3/4 (iv) For holding the appointment of Respondent Nos. 11 to 15, on the post of Registrar of the concerned University of the State of Bihar, as void ab initio.

(v) For restraining the office of the chancellor to interfere into the matter of investigation.

(vi) For issuance of an appropriate direction to undertake the exercise of fresh selection process for appointment of Registrar in the concerned universities in terms of the existing statutory provisions."

2. After some arguments, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that some mercy be shown to the petitioner and the cost of Rs.25,000/-, imposed by the Hon'ble Chancellor, be waived and the petitioner be permitted to withdraw the present writ petition.

3. Though the learned counsel for the respondents have opposed the present writ petition, however they are agreeable for giving a quietus to the present case.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and considering the equities prevailing in the present case, I deem it fit and proper to waive the cost imposed by the Ld. Chancellor, Bihar, upon the petitioner to the tune of Rs.25,000/- and permit the petitioner to withdraw the present writ petition.

5. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed as withdrawn.
