2. The petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 304B and 120B of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per prosecution case, informant, namely Gunja Devi, alleged that her daughter was married with this petitioner and after marriage, she was subjected to cruelty and harassment by this petitioner and her in-laws due to non-fulfillment of additional demand of dowry. It is further alleged that on 16.05.2024, informant received information that her pregnant daughter has been murdered by all the accused persons.

4. It is submitted by learned counsel appearing on

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.78825 of 2024(4) dt.18-04-2025 2/2 behalf of the petitioner that petitioner is quite innocent and has falsely been implicated in this case merely on suspicion. Informant is not an eye-witness of the alleged occurrence. As a matter of fact, the deceased committed suicide. In the post mortem report cause of death of the deceased has been determined as asphyxia as a result of hanging. Petitioner has got no criminal antecedents and he is in custody since 02.07.2024.

On the other hand, learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for grant of bail to the petitioner and submitted that petitioner is husband of the deceased and there is specific and direct accusation that he, along with other accused persons, committed murder of daughter of informant due to non-fulfillment of demand of dowry.

6. Considering the specific and direct nature of accusation and the fact that petitioner is husband of the deceased who died unnatural death at her matrimonial house within 7 years of marriage, the prayer for grant bail of to the petitioner is rejected.
