The petitioner has been in custody since 29.10.2017 in connection with Kursakanta P.S. Case No. 250/2017 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 147/148/149/341/323 /325/ 307/504 of the Indian Penal Code. Later on, Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code was added.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation against the petitioner is purely general and omnibus and no specific role has been attached to him. He further submits that similarly situated five accused persons have been granted the privilege of anticipatory bail vide order dated 08.02.2018 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 5603 of 2018.
