1. Though the present writ petition has been filed challenging the order dated 16.07.2024, passed by the District Magistrate, Buxar in Case No.83 of 2008, whereby and whereunder the application of the petitioner for grant of arms license has been rejected, however, at the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to file appropriate appeal under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959. Liberty so sought is granted.

2. It is needless to state that in case appropriate appeal is filed within a period of four weeks from today, the appellate authority shall consider the same on merits and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, thereon within a period of six weeks

3. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
