1. Though the present writ petition has been filed for directing the District Magistrate, Saran at Chapra to dispose off the application filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license in the year, 2009, however, realizing the fact that the new Arms Rule, 2016 have come into the force, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to file a fresh application for grant of arms license in the requisite format, complying with the requirements, as provided for in the Arms Ruels, 2016, however, seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Saran at Chapra to consider the same and dispose off the same, in accordance with law, forthwith.

2. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to grant liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate application for grant of arms license, afresh, as per the provisions contained in the Arms Rule, 2016 and in case such an application is filed within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be considered by the District Magistrate, Saran at Chapra, in accordance with law and appropriate decision shall be taken, thereon within a period of six weeks, thereafter.

3. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
