2. The petitioner has preferred this application for grant of regular bail in connection with Ballia P.S. Case No. 238 of 2022, registered for the offences punishable u/ss 420, 406, 408, 409, 467, 468, 471, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per the prosecution case, the petitioner being the then main cashier of the UCO Bank, Ballia branch (Begusarai) is alleged to have embezzled Rs. 75,14,515/- of public money fraudulently.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.7048 of 2023(16) dt.14-05-2024 2/2 this case. The petitioner has no criminal antecedent as stated in para 3 of the bail petition. Nothing has been recovered from the conscious possession of the petitioner. The petitioner is in custody since 06.09.2022.

5. Learned APP for the State as well as learned counsel for the Bank have opposed the bail petition of the petitioner and submitted that there is specific allegation of embezzlement of huge amount of public money which is serious in nature.

6. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case as well as the gravity of offence, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner above-named on bail.

7. Learned trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same preferably within a period of six months.

8. The application stands rejected.
