Learned Advocate for the State is also present.

The petitioner prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, seeking a direction upon the respondent Municipal Corporation to appoint him on compassionate ground against any class III and class IV post, considering the fact that the father of the petitioner died in harness on 19.02.2013 itself.

3. Learned Advocate for the petitioner contended that

Patna High Court CWJC No.17209 of 2024(2) dt.13-11-2024 2/3 the father of the petitioner was a permanent employee at Chapra Nagar Nigam, who died in harness on 19.02.2013. The petitioner filed the application for his appointment on compassionate ground on 27.12.2014. Considering the fact that at the relevant point of time the petitioner was a minor, he filed another application alongwith the requisite documents on 28.12.2017 when he attained majority. Despite the application filed way back in the year 2017, till date, the same has not been considered by the concerned respondent.

4. It is also contended that the other dependent of the deceased employee, who approached before this Court, his claim was duly considered and he has been accorded the appointment on compassionate ground; the copy of the order is also marked as Annexure P/5.

5. Learned Advocate for the Corporation fairly submitted that since the application for compassionate appointment is pending consideration, the same ought to be brought to its logical conclusion.

6. Considering the fair submissions on behalf of learned Advocate for the Municipal Corporation, the writ petition stands disposed off with a hope and expectation that the pending application of the petitioner shall be considered

Patna High Court CWJC No.17209 of 2024(2) dt.13-11-2024 3/3 expeditiously and disposed off by a reasoned and speaking order, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, in accordance with law.
