The petitioners are languishing in custody in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 304(B), 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner No. 1 is mother-in-law whereas petitioner No. 2 is sister-in-law (Jethani) of the deceased and they had no concern with the day-do-day affairs of the deceased and her husband. The petitioners live separately from the husband of the deceased. The victim had committed suicide due to depression and remorse as she was willing to live with her husband at his work place, who was residing outside the country for his livelihood. Moreover, good sense has prevailed between the parties and both sides have compromised the matter, the compromise petition has been annexed as Annnexure-P4 to the petition. The petitioners are languishing in custody since 24.08.2023.
