1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the respondents.

2. The petitioners have filed the instant application for the following reliefs :- "i. It is most respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, preferably in the nature of mandamus, commanding the respondent authorities to

Patna High Court CWJC No.18170 of 2025(2) dt.08-12-2025 2/3 extend to the petitioners all consequential benefits of service including length of service, seniority, increments, promotion, and retiral benefits, by treating the petitioners as having been appointed in the services of the State Government on the basis of their respective positions in the merit list prepared by the Bihar Public Service Commission pursuant to the 3rd Graduate Level Examination.

ii. Issue a declaration holding that the petitioners are entitled to all notional benefits, by treating them as having been in continuous employment under the State of Bihar with effect from 1997, i.e., the date on which similarly situated persons from the same merit list were appointed; and iii. Pass such other order(s) as may be deemed fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case."

Having perused the contents of the petition, the instant application is disposed of directing the petitioners to file their individual/separate representations before the Principal Secretary, Department of Revenue and Land Reforms, Bihar Patna (respondent no.3) within a period of four weeks giving details of their individual cases and raising grievances as stated herein.

4. In case such a representation is filed within a period of four weeks, the respondent no.3 shall decide the same within

5. It is made clear that the Court has not gone into the merits of the case of the petitioners which is to be decided by the respondent concerned.

6. The writ application stands disposed of with the above observations and directions.
