JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 17-05-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1(i). for issuance of appropriate writ/writs, order/orders, direction/directions in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent authorities to quickly dispose off the petitioner's matter concerned with issuance of his Arms license in Case No. 83/2008, pending before the court of District Magistrate, Buxar as soon as possible, as the matter is pending since past 15 years.
(ii). For issuance of appropriate writ/writs, order/orders direction/directions in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents authorities to pass a reasonable, speaking order

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the case of the petitioner for grant of arms license was remanded back to the District Magistrate, Buxar, by the Commissioner, Patna Division, Patna, vide order dated 31.12.2011, however, the matter is still pending consideration before the District Magistrate, Patna, hence he be directed to take a final decision with regard to the case of the petitioner for grant of arms license.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Buxar, to take a final decision with regard to the case of the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has not yet been taken, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.
