2. Petitioner apprehends arrest in a case registered for the offence punishable under sections 498A/34 and other ancillary sections of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

As per the prosecution case, petitioner was married to opposite party no.2 on 24.11.2022 and later on petitioner and his family members started subjecting her cruelty and torture for non-fulfilment of demand of dowry. At one point of time, accused persons assaulted her with iron rod with intention to kill her in which opposite party no.2 had to undergo treatment.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in this case. opposite party no.2 is a lady of violent behavior and she always tries to run away from the matrimonial house just to put pressure on the petitioner and his family members to accept her unfair demands. 5. Learned counsel for the State and the opposite party no.2 oppose the prayer for bail. Learned counsel for opposite party no.2 submits that within a year of marriage, petitioner and his family members started subjecting her cruelty and torture for non-fulfilment of demand of dowry.

6. Considering the nature and gravity of allegation and refusal of petitioner to pay interim maintenance to opposite party no.2, prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) Shashi U T
