2. The petitioner is apprehending arrest in connection with Janta Bazar P.S. Case No. 24/2002 registered on 28.07.2002 for the offenses punishable under Sections 467, 468, 471 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
3. As per the prosecution, the F.I.R. has been lodged against the present petitioner with the allegation that he produced a forged caste certificate.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has not committed any offence. It is contended that the petitioner had applied for an OBC certificate with genuine details through an agent, who later handed over
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.83246 of 2024(3) dt.12-05-2025 2/2 the alleged certificate to him. Subsequently, it was discovered that the signature on the certificate was forged and fabricated. However, the police, without properly verifying the true facts, mechanically registered the present case against the petitioner. It is further submitted that the petitioner has a clean antecedent.
5. Learned APP for the State vehemently opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the learned Sessions Judge, in his order, has noted that proceedings under Section 83 of the Cr.P.C. have already been initiated against the petitioner.
6. In this background, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in connection with Janta Bazar P.S. Case No. 24/2002, pending before the learned ACJM-V, Saran, is hereby rejected.
