Petitioner apprehends arrest in a case registered for offence under section 7 of the EC Act.

As per allegation, 280 bags rice, 20 bags wheat, Sutali and electronic weight machine were recovered from a godown which was being used by the petitioner on rent. Petitioner denies indulging in black marketing. He submits that the seizure was made in his absence and he has no criminal antecedent.

As the petitioner did not produce any paper in respect of aforesaid goods, prayer for bail of the petitioner is refused with direction to surrender and seek regular bail which would be considered on its own merit without prejudice. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) Shashi U T
