BAJANTHRI) 15-03-2024 The present contempt petition is not maintainable in view of the fact that contempt petition should have been filed on or before 09.01.2023 there is delay of about ten months. Therefore, Section 20 of the Contempt of Court Act, 1971

Patna High Court MJC No.3400 of 2023(3) dt.15-03-2024 2/2 would be a hurdle to entertain the present petition beyond one year. Co-ordinate Bench in the case of Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sinha & Ors. Vs. The Union of India & Ors. considered Section 20 of the Contempt of Court Act and other related provision.

2. Hence the present contempt stands disposed of as not maintainable. Disposal of the petition would be a hurdle for the petitioner to file a fresh writ petition insofar as redressing the grievance of the petitioner.
