The petitioner, who is in custody, seeks bail in connection with Amdabad P.S. Case No. 80 of 1997 registered for the offence punishable under Sections 452, 302, 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act. Considering the fact that the petitioner was declared absconder by the court below in the year 2002 and he was arrested only on 13.04.2018 and the trial is under progress. His application for grant of bail is rejected. However, the trial court is directed to proceed with the trial expeditiously and conclude the same preferable within a period of six months from today.
