The present writ petition has been filed for directing the respondent authorities to grant new electricity connection in view of the fact that the petitioner has not only deposited the requisite security money way back in the year 2013, but an agreement has also been executed thereafter, however, the electricity connection is not being granted on account of the fact that the petitioner has not provided the transformer for the purposes of grant of electricity connection to the petitioner's premises.

3. The learned Senior counsel, Shri Vinay Kirti Singh,

Patna High Court CWJC No.23030 of 2019(2) dt.21-01-2021 2/3 appearing for the respondent Company, has submitted by referring to Rule 4.6 of the Bihar Electricity Supply Code, 2007 that in case of grant of new connection where the connected load is projected to be 60 K.W. or more, a separate electricity transformer of adequate capacity is required to be installed at the cost of the consumer. In this connection the learned Senior Counsel for the respondent Company has also referred to letter dated 20.05.2020, written to the petitioner, requesting it to provide transformer of adequate capacity for the purposes of grant of new electricity connection.

4. At this stage, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be providing transformer of the requisite capacity for the purposes of grant of electricity connection within a period of one month from today.

The learned Senior counsel for the respondents Company submits that in case the transformer of the requisite and adequate capacity is provided by the petitioner within a period of one month from today, the new electricity connection shall be provided to the petitioner within a period of four weeks thereafter, subject to fulfillment of other requisite formalities.
