1. Though the present petition was filed for protecting the petitioners from the illegal action taken by the State authorities, who have illegally evicted the petitioners and removed their homestead structure/houses, situated near the Ghat at Village-Chapahari, P.S.-Rupouli, District-Purnia, which is stated to be a public land, however, at the outset, the learned counsel for the respondent-State has submitted by referring to the counter affidavit, filed by the Collector-Purnia that upon investigation, it has been found that Basgit Parcha had been granted to the grandfather of the petitioners, appertaining to the land, situated at Khata No.93, Khesra No.1481, hence process has been initiated for settlement of land in favor of the petitioners and appropriate pieces of land shall be allotted and settled in favor of the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from today. It is directed accordingly.
2. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
