1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "(i) For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of "Mandamus" directing and commanding the Respondents authorities to pay the petitioner arrears of salaryof her deceased husband from October 1996 to August 2005 along with interest at the rate of 18% per annum till the date of actual payment."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks not to press the present writ petition, however, seeks

Patna High Court CWJC No.149 of 2024(2) dt.15-02-2024 2/2 liberty on behalf of the petitioner to avail such other alternative remedies as are otherwise available under the law, including that of filing appropriate contempt petition for redressal of her aforesaid grievances. Liberty so sought is granted.
