2. The petitioner has prayed for regular bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under sections 8/17 ( C ) and 18 (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1985.

3. The case of the prosecution is that from a bag which was possessed by the petitioner, 2.5 Kg. Of opium like substance was recovered.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in connection with the present case. Nothing has been recovered from the conscious possession of this petitioner Moreover, the petitioner is languishing in judicial custody since 19.07.2025

5. Learned APP appearing for the state has opposed the prayer of regular bail.

6. Considering the allegation that huge quantity of opium was recovered from the possession of the petitioner, I am not inclined to extend the privilege of bail to him. Accordingly, the prayer for bail stands rejected.

7. However, the petitioner shall be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after six months, if the trial is not concluded by then.
