2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Motipur P.S. Case No. 242 of 2023, lodged on 29.07.2023, under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 414, 120B of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 30(a), 31, 32(i) (ii), 36 and 41(i) (ii) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise (Amendment) Act, 2022.

3. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the bail application of the petitioner has earlier been rejected twice vide order dated 16.10.2023 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 66341 of 2023 and vide order dated 19.04.2024 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 12121 of 2024. Counsel further submits that the petitioner has unnecessarily been made accused in the present case and has been in custody since 30.07.2023. Counsel also submits that a

4. Learned APP for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that a report regarding the current stage of the trial was called for. From the report, it transpires that cognizance has already been taken, charges have been framed, and the case is currently fixed for evidence. Only one witness remains to be examined, and the case is likely to be disposed of within three months.

5. As such, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at present. Therefore, the bail application of the petitioner is hereby rejected.
