The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Vigilance (Patna) PS case no. 31 of 2019 instituted for the offences punishable under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The allegation is regarding the petitioner, who happens to be Clerk in the Law Department, having caught red-handed while demanding a sum of Rs. 30,000/- from the informant for release of vehicle.

The learned Senior counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is innocent, he has committed no offence and is having a clean antecedent. It is further submitted

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.75558 of 2019(2) dt.02-12-2019 2/2 that the petitioner has already been suitably punished, inasmuch as he is languishing in custody since 23.07.2019. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the abovenamed petitioner is directed to be released on regular bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge Vigilance (Trap), Bhagalpur in connection with Vigilance (Patna) PS case no. 31 of 2019.
