Petitioner seeks bail in connection with Special Case No.27 of 2018 arising out of Vigilance Case No.58/2018 registered for the offence punishable under sections 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submit that earlier prayer of the petitioner was rejected by this Court vide order dated 08.07.2019 in Cr. Misc. No.28048 of 2019 on merit.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner has committed no offence and has falsely been implicated in this case. Petitioner is in custody since 22.12.2018.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.77309 of 2019(2) dt.19-02-2020 2/2 Learned Addl. P.P. appearing for the State vehemently opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there is sufficient material in the case diary against the petitioner. Considering the nature of allegations levelled and the submissions advanced on behalf of the parties, this Court does not find it to be a fit case for grant of bail to the petitioner. The same is, therefore, rejected.

However, the learned lower court is directed to take steps for framing of charges and the trial may be expedited and concluded, preferably, within a period of three months thereafter.
