ANJANA MISHRA ORAL ORDER 17-01-2020 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State. This is a strange case where even after issuance of appointment letter, the petitioner has not been permitted to join and has thus come to this Court for appropriate relief and direction for permitting her to join on the post of Anganwari Sevika at Anganwari Centre No.225, Ward No.5 of
Patna High Court CWJC No.25170 of 2019(2) dt.17-01-2020 2/3 Parmanandpur Tola of Rikhar Gram Panchayat, P.S.-Lalganj, District-Vaishali.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite issuance of appointment letter contained in Annexure 1, the petitioner's joining has not been accepted till date. He has also drawn the notice of this Court to an order dated 08.01.2020 passed in C.W.J.C. No.21686 of 2019, wherein the Director, Integral Child Development Scheme, Social Welfare, Government of Bihar has assured this Court on his personal appearance in the following terms:
"2. The petitioner has a grievance that though she has been selected by the Aam Sabha for her engagement as Anganbari Sevika of Anganbari Centre No.138, Ward No.11 of Chehra Kalan Block, in the District of Vaishali, so far she has not been formally engaged and allowed to function as such.
3. The Director, Integral Child Development Scheme, Social Welfare, Government of Bihar, is personally present and has assured this Court that he will look into, not only the grievance of the petitioner in the present case, he will collect information from other Districts also where despite selections having been made, the selected candidates have not been allowed to function as Anganbari Sevika/Sahayika at various Centres in the State of Bihar.

4. Considering the assurance of the Director as noted above, this writ application is disposed of with an observation that let the petitioner's grievance be examined and necessary decision be taken within four weeks from today."
It is expected that the Director, Integral Child Development Scheme, Social Welfare, Government of Bihar shall take appropriate steps to ensure the joining of the present petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
With the aforementioned direction, the writ application stands disposed of.
