The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Mahila P.S. Case No. 140 of 2019 registered under Sections 376/313/34 of the Indian Penal Code and 3⁄4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in the present case in order to put pressure upon the petitioner to get married with him. The informant/victim is major and a divorcee. Further, submission is that in the present case, the first information report is lodged after a long inordinate delay.
